Peanut butter is defined by the FDA as a mixture that contains 90% ground peanuts and can only be stabilized with hydrogenated vegetable oil. Stabilization helps keep the peanut oil from separating in the jar, allowing for a deliciously creamy texture with little to no stirring required. In order to avoid the hydrogenation process, we use palm oil to stabilize our spreads. Because we do not use hydrogenated oils, our products must be labeled peanut butter spreads. We list the % of peanuts in our products on the label.
