We use a very small amount of palm oil to stabilize some of our peanut butter spreads. Palm oil is a non-hydrogenated, non-GMO oil that is semisolid at room temperature. Adding palm oil helps to keep the peanut oil from separating in the jar, allowing for a deliciously creamy texture with little-to-no stirring required.
Our palm oil is sourced from the palm fruit, which is different than Palm Kernel oil, which is derived from palm kernels and contains 82% saturated fat. Palm oil derived from the fruit of the palm has approximately 50% saturated fat and 50% unsaturated fat. Palm oil contains no trans fats, such as those found in hydrogenated oils.
